Taras Gladyrenko graduated from the National Academy of Art and Architecture in 1987 with a diploma in design and theatre art production. He has had solo exhibitions in London, Germany and the Ukraine and these popular paintings are also held in private collections all over the world, including Australia, America, Mexico, Switzerland and Canada.
Gladyrenko employs the strong brushstrokes of the Expressionists, but these joyous, vivid paintings are often humorous and always bright. His subjects are often colourfully and theatrically dressed. His paintings have a playful and exuberant style. The viewer is often intrigued by the feeling that a story lies behind the figures featured, with their lively body language and strong hands and features. Gladyrenko’s flower paintings are lusciously painted and lavish in vibrant, contrasting oil paints. The flickering shapes of the petals are instantly recognisable, yet suggestive of flames. All of his paintings are executed in rhythmical, confident brush strokes and he loves to coat his canvasses in gem-like purples and yellows and blues, in particular.
The confident use of dramatic colours and the witty treatment of his subjects make Taras Gladyrenko an appealing, popular and collectable artist.
