Harry Adams is a collaboration between the artists Adam Wood and Steven Lowe. They met whilst studying fine art at the Byam Shaw School of Art and have since then worked together on numerous artistic projects that include music as well as visual art. This culminated in the creative and disruptive works of STOT21stCplanB (2005 - 2009) but the artists dropped that name in March 2009 due to 'pronunciation and branding difficulties'.
Harry Adams started out as a separate project that focussed on the production of large, heavy paintings, but has now expanded to embrace the whole of the Lowe/Wood experience. Their work presents a kaleidoscopic process of creative production, from ambitious epic works to the ill-considered and throw-away. These works incorporate and combine a language of elemental and expressive mark-making with inane and abstruse cultural coding, whilst simultaneously maintaining a position of negation, celebratory awe and a comical disdain for the world around them.
